But I should not say Internet is the only effective source to find resumes. Every source has its Pros and Cons.

In this article, let me discus only the process how to pull out resume from billion of WebPages using different techniques.

Important methods to source resume using open web:

1) X-Raying
2) Flipping
3)Peeling Back
4) Mining / Harvesting

X- Raying: It is the method to looking a particular info that reflecting on a specific website.

For example if you want to find out a sales guy from the particular company, obviously you will look the particular company website or word or PDF etc...

Flipping: it’s the somewhat best way to find relationships between WebPages on how they are hyperlinked together. This is especially useful to find people who have links to the company or have worked for a specific company.

To find any “Sales Manager” – could be a document/file/or word that links back to IBM.com
In Altavista search: - link:IBM.com AND “Sales Manager”
In Google search : - link:www.IBM.com AND “Sales Manager”

Peeling Back:

As the name itself reflects “retracing the path” of the URL especially one shows error “page not found” or 404 Error. This method is used to find info elsewhere on the site locate or find the specific ROOT folder where one can find similar or additional data search.

Harvesting or Mining:

The main function of this method to review a document such as CV or homepage and finding links or keywords or references and locations that assist with further searches.
